Okay … this week, I’ll keep my response short.  Especially because you had to endure my lengthy response from last week !!!

Changing up your routine, or mixing it up as you suggested we do in your video is a great suggestion.  While routines are nice, if we live by them alone in our business or our personal life, it’s amazing how much we can miss.

I’m a creature of habit.  I have a lot of routines, both in my personal life and my business life.  But I know that I “MUST” switch things up periodically.  If I don’t, than I’ll be living my life in …. The 7 Word Death Spiral.

What is the 7 Word Death Spiral ? ….. Great Question !!!!!

That’s The Way We’ve Always Done It ….. Count’m …. 7 !!!

If we do it the way we’ve always done it, nothing changes.   In the business world, things change frequently.  We must constantly look for a better way to make things happen.  We’ve advanced over the years by inventing new technology, making process improvements, or finding a new and better ways.  If we just did it the same way all the time, these advancements would never have happened. … In our personal life, doing something differently introduces us to different people and places. We get different perspectives, or get introduced to things we’ve never experienced before.  We expand our knowledge and can gain an appreciation for other cultures.

So either in your business life or your personal life …. Change can be good !!!

Sorry for my War and Peace response, but you hit a nerve. 

Great video blog and an interesting question …. 

If something goes wrong, do we bring it to someone’s attention ?

I’ll answer your question first …. YES !!!!

In this case, you paid your hard earned money and didn’t get what you paid for.  You paid for 60 pretzel rivets and should have gotten 60.  But you got around 25.  So in your example, I see two things that are a problem …

#1 – You didn’t get what you paid for.

#2 – You’re feeling guilty about bringing it to their attention

Your situation isn’t new Joe.  It’s not the first time I’m hearing it.  It’s not just about pretzels, it happens in all walks of life …. Waiter/waitress, customer service representative, sales person …. It happens with people that are providing a service to us, and by people that work for us.  I could keep going, but you don’t want me to take up your whole blog space !!!!

Today’s blog topic hits on two things that people wrestle with on a daily basis …..

ACCOUNTABILITY AND RESPONSIBILITY

It concerns me that the employee didn’t give you the proper amount of pretzel rivets (by the way, feel free to bring some to the studio next week !!!).  But what concerns me more is your wresting with whether you should let the person know that they did not perform up to the level they should.

YES, you should.  

Do you think that your order is the only one that the person messed up that day ?  How many other people walked out paying for more than what they actually received ? More importantly, how many people went back and said something ?

If you don’t say something …. HOW WILL THEY LEARN ?

Let’s face it, they’re either doing it because they don’t realize it, or they’re doing it on purpose. But either way, they’ll only learn if you bring it to their attention.  If they’re doing it on purpose, they’ll realize that someone is watching and they need to stop.  If they’re doing it without realizing it, you’re helping to educate them on how it should be done.

All to often, the motivating factors for us not saying something are:

** Don’t want to get someone in trouble.

**  Fear of negative repercussions happening to us for bringing it up.

So let’s look at not saying something.   We keep our mouths shut and in this case, customers will continue to get shorted what they ordered.  Great for the business as they’re making more money for handing out less product.  But that will only last so long, as rather than saying something, customers will take their business elsewhere.  And if no one says anything, they won’t know why they lost business.  Was it the product ?  Was it the cleanliness of the store ? …. Was it was their employees.  They won’t know because no one said anything.

And in this case, the owner of the business needs to be apart of this just as the customer is.  The owner needs to pay attention to their staff to make sure they’re doing the right thing.  The employee is a direct reflection on their business.  And the customers need to provide feedback, even if it’s negative so things get better.

Okay …. NO SHOCK …. We have Ray’s List for Accountability and Responsibility

#1 – Whether we’re working in a position that’s paid or volunteer, if we agree to be in that position than we are accountable and responsible for performing the duties of the position.

#2 – While smiling and being friendly while doing it is optional … it’s recommended. If you smile, you’ll feel better and so will the people you encounter.  Chances are they’ll smile back and everyone will have a pleasant experience.

#3 – Mistakes happen. The key is that we learn from them. The only way we learn is if people bring it to our attention.

#4 – Making the same mistake over and over is unacceptable.  Either we’re refusing to learn or we don’t care.  Neither is good.

#5 – If we’re the recipient of a product or service and we don’t get what we paid for, we have a right to say something so it get corrected. If we don&#039;t say anything, it&#039;s just as much our fault for not rectifying it as it was there fault for not doing it properly.

#6 – Praise in public, criticize in private.  There’s nothing wrong with taking that person to the side and having a quiet conversation about the problem. If they handle it well and look to rectify the wrong, than it appears you got through.  If they cop an attitude, than it’s time to elevate things to their manager.

Bottom line …. Get rid of your guilt.  It’s about THEIR performance not yours.  They should be held accountable and be responsible.

And one last thing that bothers me more than not addressing poor performance.  That’s tipping for poor service.  How many times do we go out and enjoy a meal, have terrible service, and still tip the normal amount …. so we don’t offend our waiter or waitress !!!  Does that sound right ??

When it comes to this area … I always base my tip off of what my psychology instructor in college told our class about what TIPS really stands for ….

T = To
I = Insure
P = Prompt
S = Service

Bad Service = Bad Tip
Good Service = Good Tip
Great Service = Great Tip

When I don’t get what I pay for, I bring it to the persons attention.  When I don’t get the service I’m expecting, I tip accordingly.

But whether you bring it to their attention through a conversation or through you tip ….. Bring it to their attention.

As adults the first thing we have to realize is that we are role models.  Like it or not, younger less experienced people are looking up to us for example and direction.  Role models are not specific to any age, race, religion, or group of people.  They come from everywhere …. Teachers in Philadelphia as in your video blog, bus drivers, account executives, athletes … the list is endless.  However … and there’s usually a however, it should be noted that “Parents” where the worlds first role models.  But parents are just one source for role models in today’s world.

The second things we have to realize is that the younger less experienced people are watching.   Watching our every move, even if we don’t realize it.   They may take what they see from us, which they think is the right thing, and incorporate it into their daily routine.   What’s important for role models is to engage with them and emphasize the positives and encourage them to follow that path, as well as discussing any negatives and providing details why to stay away from them.

One thing that concerns me today, is a person’s need for constant positive reinforcement.   Don’t get me wrong.  When someone does a great job, they should be told about it.  But some people feel as if they need a pat on the back each and every time.

So …. Here’s Ray’s Rules for Role Models and Positive Reinforcement

#1 – Everyone has the opportunity to be a role model.

#2 – Role Models don’t have a choice to be role models.  They’re selected.

#3 – Attention Role Models …. People are Watching your every move !!!!  Your actions, both positive and negative will be noted and spun back at you when you least expect it.  So be prepared to engage !!!

#4 – Praise should happen in public, criticism should happen in private.

#5 – You shouldn’t get praise for just doing your job or your schoolwork.   Praise is for going above and beyond the norm.

#6 – When you do receive it, use the praise as positive reinforcement that you’re moving in the right direction.  And than keep moving there !!!

Okay, it shouldn’t be a big deal.   Tell people how I feel and what I stand for.  But why should I keep doing it ?

#1 – Telling people let’s them know my opinion.  They can either agree with it, disagree with it, or not have an opinion of their own.

#2 – I’m constantly meeting new people that don’t know how I feel.

#3 – The world and its events are constantly changing and updating.  There’s always an opportunity that something may influence and change my opinion.

More important …..

#4 – If I don’t express my opinion and let people know how I feel, than my opinion will never be heard.   Not to sound dramatic, but how tragic is that ???

Think about that ….. an opinion that’s never heard.  A voice silenced by itself.

Joe, we live in a democracy that encourages each and everyone of us to step forward and express our opinions.  That’s not a demand, that’s a right.  For people to sit on the sidelines and watch the parade go by without participating goes against everything that this country was founded on.

There are many reasons why we don’t do that ….. 

#1 – Lack of self confidence

#2 – Lack of belief in our opinions, and …. a real biggie …. 

#3 – Fear of conflict.  That’s right, the fear of us having to debate a point with someone that has a differing opinion.  Standing unopposed is easy.  Fighting for what we believe in, in the face of opposition isn’t.  All to often, rather than engaging in a healthy debate, people walk away.   In this case, who wins ?  To me, the bigger question is who loses ?  The answer is the person that didn’t express themselves because in the end we never heard what they had to say.

But back to your point in the video blog ….. In the end we must share our opinion and continue to share it.  Why ??  

At the beginning of my response I stated 4 reasons ….. well there’s a 5th !!!  And to me it’s the most important …..

#5 – So WE don’t lose sight of what WE believe in.


Before I go … let me share one of my favorite quotes …. from Theodore Roosevelt

“The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood, who strives valiantly; who errs and comes short again and again; because there is not effort without error and shortcomings; but who does actually strive to do the deed; who knows the great enthusiasm, the great devotion, who spends himself in a worthy cause, who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement and who at the worst, if he fails, at least he fails while daring greatly. So that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who know neither victory nor defeat.”

Don’t sit on the sidelines.  Get out there and tell the world how you feel !!!!

Great video blog today.   It’s a prime example of innovation and leadership.

Let’s recap ….you’re on vacation, you want to catch fish, and you take the advice of the local bait and tackle shop that tells you the best “hot spots” and they sell you the bait to catch “the big one”.  But what you found is the same advice was given to everyone and you were getting the same results as everyone …. Nothing !!!   That’s not to say that the advice you were given was bad.  It just didn’t work this time.

The key point …. is in the face of mediocrity or non-results, what should you do ?

You could have kept on fishing unsuccessfully or you could have done what you did, and become innovative and seek a change.  Change the type of bait and the location of where you were fishing ….and what was the ending result ???? … You caught some fish !!!

What people have to decide in life …. Is do they want to be a follower or do they want to be a leader or innovator ?

To be a follower is okay.  It just means that you’re doing the same thing as everyone else. There are places for followers.  Especially in the business world.  But if you want to be an innovator or a leader, than that means you’re looking for a new way to do the same thing everyone else is, or perhaps a way to do something that no one else has tried before.

So why do we find more Followers that Innovators in this world ?    Easy !!!!!

Great video blog as usual !!!

Science HAS brought us a long way.  Things that were only a dream 100 years ago are reality today.  Medical procedures, computers, travel, etc.  The advancements are tremendous.

But what I‘d like to focus on is the people.

Without the people, these advancements would never have happened.

And they only happen IF ……. A person has the correct information and uses it.  

As in your video, if people only focus on the negative occurrences of the day, they may miss all the positive things that are happening.  And even from negatives, we can generate positives.

** When an earthquake devastates a part of a country, we can allow the aftermath to bring everything to a halt, or people can band together to move it … stone by stone …. to save the people that are still alive, bring closure for the people that aren’t, and revitalize the country.

** With who knows how many barrels of oil bubbling up in the Gulf, we can allow the oil to destroy the lives and livelihood of the geographic area or we can see the world come together in unison and attempt to solve the problem.

Just two examples … but there are many others.

What made those two examples special ?  Because the people in those examples while acknowledging the negative, chose not to become polarized by it.  They focused on what positive outcome they could produce from it and went to work to achieve them.

And each and every person has the same ability.   Focusing on the Positives.

Ray’s Opinion on the Power of Positive Thoughts 

#1 – As Henry Ford once said ….. “whether you think you can, or you think you can’t … you’re right !!!

So Think You Can !!!

Fantastic video blog as usual.

You hit on an interesting topic ….. the belief that what a person does is based off of their genetic make up, rather than their environment, and their interpretation of it.

In essence, is it in their “Genes” or is it in their “Jeans” ????

Imagine the pressure on a child whose Mother or Father is exceptional at something. Logic would tell you they should be following in their parents footsteps, right ?  They should kick butt just like they did.  For example:

* Is Tiger Woods son or daughter expected to play golf at the same level as their Dad ?

* Is the child of Steffi Graf and Andre Agassi supposed to win Grand Slams in tennis when they grow up ?

* What about Bill Gates ?  Does he have kids ?  And what are the expectations on them ?

* Is Donald Trumps children automatic real estate moguls or will they have to work at it ?

While each of the kids in those scenarios may want to follow in their parents footsteps, and they may have success at it, there is no preconceived disposition for their success.

As you said in your video …. Studies show that 30% of a persons ending result MAY be related to genetics.  The rest comes from within ….   life experiences and environment.

Life Experiences and your Environment ??  Like what ?  Thank you for asking Joe !!!

* Your health …. Mental, physical, spiritual, and emotional.   Too often when people think of their health, they only think of the physical.  The other three parts are important too !!

* Your eating habits ….. Are you eating healthy food which fuels your bodies engine or are you eating unhealthy food that brings your energy level down ?

* Exercise …. A strong body can support a strong mind.  But a weak body that may want to do what a strong mind wants, won’t have the strength to do it.  How much exercise do you get ?

* Sleep … Yes, you may exercise, you may eat right, but if you don’t get enough sleep, than your body will not be rested enough to react when you need it to.  Ever heard an athlete say they were a ½ a step slow that day ?  Few things can lower performance, the way a tired body can.

* Your Friends ….. Yes, those people that you’re close to and hang around with.  While they may be nice people, are they the positive influence you need ?

* Home Environment ….. No where should be as peaceful as your own home.  Yet we all know that the home can have its own set of challenges.

* Your Neighborhood ….. When I was growing up, everyone knew each other.  My neighbors would always be on the look out for me.  And yes, they always told my parents if they thought I did something out of line. It doesn&#039;t seem to be that way anymore.  We wave as we pull out of the driveway or yell &quot;what&#039;s up&quot; as we head into the house.  But establishing those close bonds don&#039;t seem to happen like it used to.  Also, in today’s world every neighborhood is different.  While some are friendly, secure, and uneventful others may be violent, drug infested, and nasty.  And there are many levels in between those two.  Imagine two people growing up with the same aspirations.  One in a secure neighborhood and the other dodging drugs and bullets.  Which one is more likely to succeed ?  My opinion is that you’d need to look at each one individually to see how each person allowed their environment to positively or negatively affect them.  While an environment can leave a strong impression, it’s the persons interpretation and reaction to the environment that matters more.  With that being said, too many people have never made it out of their negative environment because the violence of that environment wouldn’t let them.  And for that, the world is forever at a loss.

In the end …. Your environment and your life experiences influence who you are and what you do.  But you are the one in control

Ray’s Thoughts For Fitting Into Your Jeans …..

#1 – We gravitate toward what makes us happy and what gives us pleasure.

#2 – Your environment can hold you back or it can motivate you.  That’s your choice.

#3 – Your genes are lessons of the past that can help you succeed in the present and the future if you use them wisely.  Learning from the successes and failures of others is priceless.

#4 – Your body and your mind are both engines.  They must be fueled and rested properly for maximum performance 

#5 – Success or Failure is your option.   While there’s no guarantee of success, you’ll have a greater opportunity to succeed if you’re trying.  And ZERO chance if your not.

So while your genes can have an influence, what’s in your jeans is a greater one.

Focus on what’s in your jeans and choose to succeed !!!

Awesome blog as usual and it’s another one of my concerns when it comes to someone achieving success …. So my response will be rather lengthy !!

Nice Topic this week …… People waiting for things to come to “them”.

As Abraham Lincoln once said ….. “Good things come to those that wait. But only what is left behind by those who hustle.”

But maybe it’s not as easy as that.  So let’s analyze this …..  Why do we do that ?  Why do we wait ?   Several reasons ….. 4 actually !!!  

#1 – Confidence …. We want to do it, but we lack the confidence in ourselves to make it happen.

#2 – Ego ….. We believe that we’re so wonderful that we should be rewarded without doing anything.

#3 – Passion, or in this case a lack of it …… We give full effort and intensity when we’re passionately involved with the issue at hand.  If there’s passion ….. than it’s All Systems Go !!!  If there’s no passion … we might as well go to sleep.

Let’s look at each reason individually ….. 

If the reason is Confidence, there’s no better remedy than doing it.  Sure you may fail the first time, but you’re building life experiences that will make the next attempts easier.  And if your confidence issues are being created because you’re hearing horror stories from friends or business associates, evaluate what they have to say, retain the valid information and toss the rest.  Than incorporate those concerns into your next attempt. 

If the reason is Ego, than we have a problem.  While we need to believe in ourselves and have confidence in our abilities, this is drastically different than Ego.  Ego is being in love with oneself.  Expecting that you should be given something rather than work for it and earn it isn’t reality.

If the reason is Passion, than we have another problem. Passion isn’t something you can fake. It’s not something that can be created on demand.  Passion is real.  It’s either there or it’s not.  Don’t fall into the belief that if you’re not passionate about everything than you don’t have passion to begin with.   Passion is specifically targeted to those things we love.  It shows.  It can’t be faked. Find something that you’re passionate about and the sky is the limit !!!

I said 4 reasons didn’t I ? …. Okay ……

#4 – False Expectations …. That’s someone operating under a belief that’s not real

Joe …#4 concerns me a lot these days, especially after watching my niece and nephew grow up over the last 16 years.   Joe, when you and I were young (and that wasn’t too long ago), we experienced winning and losing.  We knew what it was like to try and to fail.  At the end of the day, we’d dust ourselves off, have dinner, go to bed, and wake up the next day to try again.  We loved winning, we hated losing, and we’d put out 100% effort to win.  Some kids were better baseball players than other, while some could dance circles around others mathematically.  We all strived to find the thing or things that we were good at. Now in our adult life, we take those winning and losing experiences with us.

What I’ve witnessed as my niece and nephew have grown up, is the false expectation that everyone is the winner.  That no one loses.  If they played a sporting event, at the end, “everyone” got a trophy. Yes someone was crowned #1, but they were told they were all winners.   It isn’t specific to school.  It could have been something at their church or even their home environment.  Everyone is the winner.  You and I both know that’s not reality.  Now I don’t disagree that everyone who tries, wins, even if they lose.  But there can only be one winner. Unfortunately that’s not the way the message is communicated.  Take that youth who’s now grown up and transplant them into the “Real World” and we have a major disconnect.  

*  “Wait …. I’ve always won as a child.  How come I’m not winning now ?”  
*  “This isn’t fair.  I always win”.
*   “How come you haven’t told me I’m wonderful today ?”

They don’t know how to handle losing … therefore they wait for winning to come to them.

We as the “seasoned” adults need to educate the “young” adults so they keep trying and they don’t wait.   Remember their mind set …. The trophy should be handed to them …. They should always be patted on the back ….. They’re wonderful !!!!  

In some cases they should get the trophy, they should get the pat on the back, and they ARE wonderful.  But every time ?????

Ray’s Rules For Not Waiting

#1 – If you wait, someone else will usually arrive before you do.

#2 – If you don’t wait, it doesn’t guarantee you success.  Just the opportunity to succeed.

#3 – Success (or failure) will depend on you and your actions

<p>Awesome blog as usual and it’s another one of my concerns when it comes to someone achieving success …. So my response will be rather lengthy !!</p>
<p>Nice Topic this week …… People waiting for things to come to “them”.</p>
<p>As Abraham Lincoln once said ….. “Good things come to those that wait. But only what is left behind by those who hustle.”</p>
<p>But maybe it’s not as easy as that.  So let’s analyze this …..  Why do we do that ?  Why do we wait ?   Several reasons ….. 4 actually !!!  </p>
<p>#1 – Confidence …. We want to do it, but we lack the confidence in ourselves to make it happen.</p>
<p>#2 – Ego ….. We believe that we’re so wonderful that we should be rewarded without doing anything.</p>
<p>#3 – Passion, or in this case a lack of it …… We give full effort and intensity when we’re passionately involved with the issue at hand.  If there’s passion ….. than it’s All Systems Go !!!  If there’s no passion … we might as well go to sleep.</p>
<p>Let’s look at each reason individually ….. </p>
<p>If the reason is Confidence, there’s no better remedy than doing it.  Sure you may fail the first time, but you’re building life experiences that will make the next attempts easier.  And if your confidence issues are being created because you’re hearing horror stories from friends or business associates, evaluate what they have to say, retain the valid information and toss the rest.  Than incorporate those concerns into your next attempt. </p>
<p>If the reason is Ego, than we have a problem.  While we need to believe in ourselves and have confidence in our abilities, this is drastically different than Ego.  Ego is being in love with oneself.  Expecting that you should be given something rather than work for it and earn it isn’t reality.</p>
<p>If the reason is Passion, than we have another problem. Passion isn’t something you can fake. It’s not something that can be created on demand.  Passion is real.  It’s either there or it’s not.  Don’t fall into the belief that if you’re not passionate about everything than you don’t have passion to begin with.   Passion is specifically targeted to those things we love.  It shows.  It can’t be faked. Find something that you’re passionate about and the sky is the limit !!!</p>
<p>I said 4 reasons didn’t I ? …. Okay ……</p>
<p>#4 – False Expectations …. That’s someone operating under a belief that’s not real</p>
<p>Joe …#4 concerns me a lot these days, especially after watching my niece and nephew grow up over the last 16 years.   Joe, when you and I were young (and that wasn’t too long ago), we experienced winning and losing.  We knew what it was like to try and to fail.  At the end of the day, we’d dust ourselves off, have dinner, go to bed, and wake up the next day to try again.  We loved winning, we hated losing, and we’d put out 100% effort to win.  Some kids were better baseball players than other, while some could dance circles around others mathematically.  We all strived to find the thing or things that we were good at. Now in our adult life, we take those winning and losing experiences with us.</p>
<p>What I’ve witnessed as my niece and nephew have grown up, is the false expectation that everyone is the winner.  That no one loses.  If they played a sporting event, at the end, “everyone” got a trophy. Yes someone was crowned #1, but they were told they were all winners.   It isn’t specific to school.  It could have been something at their church or even their home environment.  Everyone is the winner.  You and I both know that’s not reality.  Now I don’t disagree that everyone who tries, wins, even if they lose.  But there can only be one winner. Unfortunately that’s not the way the message is communicated.  Take that youth who’s now grown up and transplant them into the “Real World” and we have a major disconnect.  </p>
<p>*  “Wait …. I’ve always won as a child.  How come I’m not winning now ?”<br />
*  “This isn’t fair.  I always win”.<br />
*   “How come you haven’t told me I’m wonderful today ?”</p>
<p>They don’t know how to handle losing … therefore they wait for winning to come to them.</p>
<p>We as the “seasoned” adults need to educate the “young” adults so they keep trying and they don’t wait.   Remember their mind set …. The trophy should be handed to them …. They should always be patted on the back ….. They’re wonderful !!!!  </p>
<p>In some cases they should get the trophy, they should get the pat on the back, and they ARE wonderful.  But every time ?????</p>
<p>Ray’s Rules For Not Waiting</p>
<p>#1 – If you wait, someone else will usually arrive before you do.</p>
<p>#2 – If you don’t wait, it doesn’t guarantee you success.  Just the opportunity to succeed.</p>
<p>#3 – Success (or failure) will depend on you and your actions</p>
<p>#4 – Keep you head based in Reality</p>
<p>#5 – Have fun !!!!</p>

Do’ers versus Thinkers …. Where do I start ???

How about the following quote from Theodore Roosevelt, 26th President of the USA, when he said …..

“The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena; whose face is marred by sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs and comes short again and again because there is no effort without error and shortcoming; who knows the great enthusiasms, the great devotion, spends himself in a worthy cause; who at best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement; and who at worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who have never tasted victory or defeat.”

Okay …. Awesome quote …. Thank you Teddy !!!!    

Now let’s look at the Do’ers and the Thinkers.   I mean, let’s face it …. To do, or not to do … that is the question today, right !!!

When it comes to someone’s make up, they’ll probably fit into one of two categories …. 1] Concept …. or  2] Process.

** Concept People are the Thinkers … they have the ability to create new things or think of how to make existing things better.  It all happens in their mind.

** Process People are the Do’ers … they can take the concept that the Thinkers came up with …. Apply the necessary steps for how to accomplish it … and than get it done.

While it’s possible to have Concept and Process all in the same person ….. chances are that you will “major” in one, and AT BEST, “minor” in the other.  Not to pat ourselves on the back Joe, but you and I are examples of having both within the same person.   We each respectively developed our own radio shows.  We created the segments, develop lists for who to interview, do research to create bring the latest and greatest topics and people to our shows … and than we do it.  

We dream it, we create it, and we Do It !!!!   So we kind of have a dual “major”.   The goal for us, if we can, is to surround ourselves with people that can make what we envisioned better !!

Alert, Alert !!!!!    We may have some improperly classified people !!!

We may have some Do’ers that are disguised as Thinkers !!!!   What would cause that to happen ???

Okay … here’s a tongue twister ….. Do’ers that don’t do, don’t do for a reason … actually several reasons !!! 

#1 – Low Self Esteem … they don’t believe what they can contribute is worthy.

#2 – Fear of Failure … they’re afraid to make a mistake.

#3 – Criticism …. If a mistake does happen, they do not want to hear the comments of others.

#4 – THEY’RE LAZY !!!!!!!

** If you have low self-esteem you need to realize that you have a wealth of experience and knowledge to bring to the table.  What you have is a “valuable” opinion.  Share it !!!

** Don’t fear failure … Learn from Failure.  And look around you.  NONE of your teammates wants you to fail.  They want you to succeed.  So take a deep breath and start Do-ing !!  We ALL make mistakes !!

** Criticism is feedback. As long as the feedback is constructive and you can learn from it, than accept it.  What bothers me are the people that criticize, who have never attempted it, who will not try, and who see their role as the people who sit on the sideline spouting negative comments.  Get rid of them.  There is no place for them.  

**  LAZY ????   Get off your butt and get into the game !!!!

And Thinkers …. Don’t be afraid to let them wander into the waters of the Do’ers ever now and than.   Will they understand all the processes that will go into making things happen ?  Will they want to change categories and become a Do’er full time ?  Probably not.  But if they get a taste of how it’s done, they may be able to refine their concept so that there are less challenges and obstacles for the “real” Do’ers to accomplish it.  Or who knows.  Maybe you have a Do&#039;er hiding as a Thinker and they&#039;ll make the switch !!

So …… when it comes to Do’ers and Thinkers …. Make sure that you’re in the correct category and make sure that you’re giving 100%

Just get in the game !!!
